8 Days Discover UgandaOn this 8 Days Discover Uganda adventure safari, much is experienced from several destinations that is the Kibale Forest national park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest park with their bio-diversity especially some of the big five and birdlife species.

Visit to Queen Elizabeth national park and enjoy the chimpanzees in Kyambura gorge, boat ride, game drives, then to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest park a habitat to the endangered giant mountain gorillas only where gorilla tracking is done with few chances in Mgahinga national park.

Day 1 :» Entebbe International Airport – Kampala.

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your Safari guide or company representative who will transfer you to Hotel Africana in Kampala. If you arrive in the morning, you will have an opportunity to visit some of the interesting places in Kampala.

These include the Buganda trail, religious sites, historical stores, like Kasubi Tombs, Kabaka’s Lake, Bulange palace, Katereke ditch, Nagalabi coronation site, Wamala Tombs, Namirembe Cathedral, Lubaga cathedral, Bahai temple, Namugongo shrines, Uganda museum, Makerere art gallery and much more respectively. Meal plan: Half-Board.

Day 2 :» Kampala – Kibale Forest National Park.

Our safari guide will pick you from your hotel of residence and transfer to Fort portal. This scenic drive takes approximately 5 hours arriving in the afternoon. You will stop over in Fort portal town for lunch before driving to Ndali Lodge / Rwenzori View Guest House where you will stay prior to your chimpanzee tracking tomorrow.

After checking in, you will go for a guided walk in Bigodi Swamp to look for different bird species like the Shining Blue Kingfisher, Blue Throated Roller and other rare species and also find the fruiting trees, which attract Narina Trogon, Pied Hornbill, Yellow Spotted, Hairy Breasted and Yellow-Billed Barbets.

Dinner and Overnight at Ndali Lodge or Rwenzori View Guest House (High end accommodation), Kanyankyu Ecological site (Budget facility).

Day 3 :» Kibale Forest National Park.

A relatively early morning start, to report to the ranger station in Kibale Forest National Park at 07:00 am to track habituated chimpanzees – these delightful apes, more closely related to humans than to any other living creature, are tremendous fun to watch as they squabble and play in fruiting trees. The incredibly diverse forest is home to over 13 species of primates including red Columbus monkey, the rare L’Hoest, blue monkey, grey mangabey, pottos, black faced vervet monkeys, baboons and also bush babies.

A network of shady forest trails provides much to delight botanists and butterfly lovers, while birders are in for a treat with 335 species recorded including the endemic Prigogine’s ground thrush. The elusive forest elephant, smaller and hairier that its savannah counterpart, moves seasonally into the developed part of the park, while other terrestrial mammals include buffalo, giant forest hog and a half dozen antelope species. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Full-Board.

Day 4 :» Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After a morning breakfast, we will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park. We will enter the park via the Northern crater Area. With beautiful lakes and rich grasslands which are set deep in the crater valley, this is truly the most breathtaking scenery in the park.

Queen Elizabeth is host to a large variety and volume of wildlife. It boasts one of the highest bio diversity ratings of any game park in the world, from the open Savannah to Rain forest, dense swamps and beautiful crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward. Almost 100 species that include Hippos, Lions, Buffaloes, Leopard, Spotted Hyena and the elusive giant forest hog. There are over 606 species of birds found here including the martial eagle, black-rumped buttonquail, Verreaux’s eagle owl and African skimmer to name but a few.

The primates include Chimpanzees, Black and white Columbus Monkeys, Blue, Black Faced Red Columbus, and Red Tailed monkeys and Olive Baboons. Relax after lunch and later go for an evening game drive. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Katara lodge (High end accommodation), Simba safari camp or Ihamba safari lodge (Mid-range accommodation). Meal plan: Full-Board.

Day 5 :» Queen Elizabeth National Park.

8 Days Discover UgandaThis morning we leave for the 08:00 am chimp trek in Kyambura Gorge. These delightful apes, more closely related to humans than to any other living creature, are tremendous fun to watch as they squabble and play in fruiting trees. We will return to the lodge for lunch and a chance to relax by the swimming pool.

In the afternoon, we go for a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel that gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others. After this wonderful afternoon, a slow drive back to Lodge. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Full-Board.

Day 6 :» Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Forest Park.

This morning, embark our safari van and depart to Bwindi Forest a home to half population of Africa mountain gorillas. Drive through the southern Ishasha sector. En-route lunch by the Ishasha River and try to spot famed Ishasha tree-climbing lions. Bird life and other primate life in Bwindi are quite superb, and there is an incredible variety of flora. Bwindi is the Bird watchers heaven!

It holds 348 species of birds and supports 24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics that occur in Uganda; and seven red data book species. Once continuous with the forests of the Virunga Volcanoes (Dian Fossey’s stomping ground), Bwindi is now an ecological island, surrounded by cultivation on the rich volcanic soils. Dinner and Overnight at Gorilla Resort, Gorilla forest camp, Mahogany springs (High end accommodation), Engagi lodge (Mid-range facilities) or Buhoma Community Bandas (Budget accommodation). Meal plan: Full-Board.

Day 7 :» Bwindi.

Early morning cup of coffee, then prepare for the briefing from the Uganda wildlife officials and thereafter enter into the jungle to search the shy mountain gorillas and enjoy their life style in their real home. After meeting the gorillas, you can sit around these great apes for a whole hour gazing into their big round eyes.

On a gorilla safari, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as walking shoes, packed food and mineral water, insect repellent, sun screen and hut. The gorilla tracking experience takes half or whole day depending on the movement of these primates. After this experience you will have informative memorable experience in life. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Full-Board.

Day 8 :» Bwindi-Kampala.

Early morning breakfast, after take short tour around the accommodation facilities and take some photos of interest. Thereafter embark our safari vehicle back to Kampala with lunch en-route to Entebbe international airport to board your home flight. End of services and Meal plan: Half-Board.
