1 day gorilla trekking Bwindi trip to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park for Gorilla trekking experience is a designed itinerary for visitors who mainly have limited time off work.
This day 1 trip takes you to Bwindi forest located southwest of Uganda is a rain-forest a habitat to Rushaga, Nkuringo, Ruhiji, and Buhoma habituated Gorilla Groups. The park is one of the oldest park in Uganda with 480 mountain Gorillas roughly half of the worlds population. It also provides shelter to over 250 species of birds, 25 species of chameleon, frogs, 4000 species of trees and 120 mammals including baboons, elephants, white and black colobus monkeys, trail of water falls and many butterflies.
Of the fact that Gorilla permits are booked in advance before the trekking day, wake up at around 5:30am, prepare yourself and have breakfast. You will be picked up from the hotel, lodge, residential area or preferred pick-up point at exactly 6am by our guide and drive to the briefing center in the park to be told the tracking guidelines.
You will be grouped in different groups that is to say 4, 5, 6 or 8 depending on the season but not beyond 8 people followed by armed guides who always provide protection in case of animal disturbances.
During the movement in the forest you will spot out birds, mammals and different types of trees. You can also stop over at the falls in the forest for a breath taking and also spot a lot of butterflies in the forest.
But you need to be faster in order to catch up with the Gorillas and spend 1 hour with them. During the time with the giant gorillas; flash camera are not allowed, always stand 7metres away from Gorillas, do not make noise and always stay in your Group.
After the trekking you will have your lunch in the forest, then head back to the headquarters to be rewarded with a certificate of recognition for mountain Gorilla trekking in Uganda and later be dropped back to your hotel by the drive guide.
