UWA completed the translocation of kobs to Kidepo Valley National Park

For the past weeks, Uganda Wildlife Authority translocated more than 100 Kobs to Kidepo Valley National Park in, north eastern part of Uganda from Murchison Falls National Park. By translocating was a way of increasing the population of animal species in the Kidepo valley national park

Uganda- North Korea Relationship come to an end.

Following their long term relationship since the early 70’s.Uganda and North Korea relationship finally has come to an end. Yesterday 29th 05 2016 in the presence of Uganda’s President Yoweri Kagutta Museveni and Korean president Park Geun-hye at state house Entebbe. Park arrived in Uganda on 28th 05 2016 and this was her second leg African tour after Ethiopia where she addressed the African Union. (more…)

The Ugandan chapatti is the cheapest quick food in the world. The chapatti locally known to many as the ‘’Rolex’’ has been recommended and ranked a popular roadside quick snack which doesn’t exclude age, tribe, colour or class. The Rolex is a fried chapatti containing fried eggs, vegetables and salt. It is very popular in Uganda though known little outside the country, it is cheap, satisfy and an affordable meal. (more…)

Mount Sabinyo Hike.

African Adventure Travellers brings you a one day tour to Mount Sabinyo. Sabinyo is, from a mountaineering point of view, the most interesting and spectacular of the eight Virunga Volcanoes. Violent explosions have torn its symmetrical volcano shape apart, leaving behind narrow ridges, deep canyons and steep faces. QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.

The park is located southwest of Uganda about 410km north of Kampala. It sits on 1978square kilometers. That’s around 6hours on the road driving from Kampala, passing via Masaka-Mbarara through Bushenyi to the centre of the park that is about 420km or via Kampala-Mityana-Mubende-Fort Portal through Kasese overlooking the Rwenzori mountain ranges which is about 410km. Namugongo martyrs shrines

Before Christianity set foot in Uganda, many people worshiped the supreme God who was the basis for public and private life with a strict moral code, but they knew that God did exist. When the missionaries arrived in Uganda they taught people several ways of interacting with the highest God. Here a number of young men who were excited were recruited and begun to preach the gospel for the first time and they were encouraged to live and die for their faith. (more…)

Mountain Muhavura is believed to be the youngest volcano that stands 4,127meters high among the Virunga ranges. It is cone shaped with a small crater lake approximately 36meters in diameter at its summit. It marks the border of Rwanda and Uganda. A NEW GENERATION OF LIONS IN RWANDA

Just last year, Akagera National Park in Rwanda received seven lions, donated by South African parks, Beyond Phida Private Game Reserve which sent five females and Tembe elephant Reserve Park that sent two male lions. The lions were ushered into the Rwanda soils on the 30th June, 2015. These are the first lions in Rwanda for about two decades, the previous ones having become extinct due to encroachment and being poisoned by the natives to protect their cattle from the lions.
