Our guide will welcome you on board our safari vehicle with a pick up from Kigali, Goma Airports or Ruhengeri/Gisenyi towns and proceed with a drive to cross over at the Gisenyi-Goma border post. The mountain Gorilla tracking shall be done in the Virunga Mountains National Park starting at the Bukima ranger post. We have 4,gorilla families that have been recorded and habituated ready for visitor’s viewing. Munyaga, Rugendo, Humba and Nyakamwe.

The Virunga wardens at Bukima post shall group all trekkers in a set of 4 as per Virunga Gorilla trekking rules and assign each group with a park ranger. You will need some packed lunch, bottled water, hiking shoes, rain jackets and a small back-pack.

Your 3,days Virunga gorilla trek in Congo:

Day 1 :» Travel to the Virunga National Park – Congo

After meeting your driver with a briefing about your 3 days virunga gorilla trek, you will drive to Congo and cross via the Goma border crossing point. Check out with the immigration offices from both countries, verify with the Rwanda/Congo health officials about your yellow fever certificate and continue with your drive through Congo to check in your preferred lodge.

Day 2 :» Full day Gorilla tracking Virunga – Congo.

After our breakfast from our lodge with a packed meal and bottled water in our backpack, we shall head for a gorilla briefing moment at the Bukima ranger post with great views of the Mikeno mountain. Our armed ranger guide will lead your group of nit more than 4 persons. We look at having a walk of between 1 to 2 hrs in search of the Virunga gentle giants and once spotted, have 1hr with the gorillas taking pictures and videos. Have your lunch and start the walking journey back to Bukima. Graduate for the day’s congo gorilla trek, into your car and head back to your lodge.

Day 3 :» Departure day.

After our breakfast in the Virunga Mountains National Park from our lodge, we shall check out from our lodge and head back to our final destination. This can be the Goma Airport or town, Gisenyi or Ruhengeri town or even Kigali Airport or town. Otherwise, you may agree at your preferred drop off point.
