This 3 Days Mountain Muhavura Hike safari takes you through Mountain Muhavura which is believed to be the youngest volcano that stands 4127 meters high among the Virunga ranges.

It is cone shaped with a small crater lake approximately 36 meters in diameter at its summit. It marks the border of Rwanda and Uganda

The mountain lies in Mgahinga National Park in Uganda while in Rwanda lies in the Volcanoes National Park. Enjoy the spectacular view of the other volcanoes and crater lakes from the top of the mountain.

DAY 1 :» Transfer to Kisoro town

After your breakfast, embark on your journey to Kisoro about an 8 hours drive. We shall have a stopover at the Uganda Equator for photographs in Masaka town and then continue to Mbarara for lunch. You will then check in your accommordation and prepare for the next day hike.

DAY 2 :» Muhavura Volcano Climbing

You will be driven to the base of the volcano at the park headquarters in Kinigi where your trek will start at 7:00 am. The slopes are somehow steep as you walk through the magnificent terrains that are varied and usually like a desert. Yucca like broad spinned plants that are thickets and thick shrubs prevail on the slopes.

You will also encounter the swamps in the saddles between the three volcanoes that retain water all year round and finally have a magnificent view of the Crater Lake and the other peaks of the Virunga ranges. The trek takes a full day.

DAY 3 :» Travel back to Kampala

After your breakfast, we shall return to Kampala and have lunch en-route.
